PureWhitening teeth whitening

A satisfied dental hygiene patient
Helena Horáková, DiS. et DiS.

Teeth whitening should always be recommended by a dentist or dental hygienist. Teeth may be sensitive during the procedure, so the whitening options must be considered individually for each patient.

Using modern methods, you can achieve whiter teeth without undergoing invasive procedures. To achieve the best whitening results, it is important to maintain a healthy oral cavity and take care of it regularly.

Home whitening

For home whitening, it is necessary to make impressions and create whitening trays, into which the whitening gel is applied overnight.
Gel concentration – 10% carbamide peroxide (weaker), 16% carbamide peroxide (stronger).
We always start whitening with a lower concentration of gel and apply it to the 10 front teeth, i.e., from five to five, in both the upper and lower jaws. We apply the gel to the front surface of the teeth in an amount the size of a pinhead. Before inserting the trays, we thoroughly dry the teeth, for example, with a paper towel. The whitening works overnight, and for effective results, leave the gel on for at least 6 hours. In the morning, remove the trays from your mouth and clean them with a brush and lukewarm water. Also clean your teeth and place the trays in the case facing downwards to allow excess water to drip out. In the evening, you can apply new gel to the dry trays.

The whitening process takes approximately one month. To maintain a white smile, we apply the gel repeatedly during the maintenance phase.

Combined whitening

It consists of a home whitening phase (see above), followed by an in-office phase, where the color of the whitened tooth is fixed. After completing the in-office phase, the dental hygienist will schedule an appointment for the in-office whitening phase. This visit lasts approximately 100-120 minutes. During this visit, the hygienist cleans the surface of the teeth, creates a protective barrier for the gums, and applies three layers of 6% whitening gel for 15 minutes. The whitening effect is long-lasting, with a guarantee of achieving shade B1.
